An ACCREDITED INVESTOR is an individual with a net income before taxes that is more than $200,000, or $300,000 when combined with the income of a spouse, in each of the two most recent years, and who expects to have the same net income in the current year; OR an individual who has at least $1million in financial assets (cash and securities only, not real estate) before taxes, net of any debts. Accredited investors can also be an individual, either alone, or with a spouse, who has net assets of at least $5 million.
